Over 150 professionals gather in Besançon to explore the future of active implantable medical devices
The first edition of AIMD Day, a pioneering event dedicated to active implant technologies, took place on Tuesday June 24 and ended on a high note.
Organized by Cisteo MEDICAL, this event brought together numerous European players in the active implantable medical device (AIMD) sector, with a common goal: to present and discover the innovations that will revolutionize tomorrow's medicine.
During this intense but no less convivial day, participants were able to explore a wide range of cutting-edge technological solutions: miniaturization, hermeticity, innovative electrodes, implant cybersecurity, communicating sensors, and the latest advances in energy and embedded electronics.

The event, structured around conferences showcasing cutting-edge technologies and an exhibitor village, enabled direct exchanges between technology suppliers, medical device manufacturers and industry experts from all over Europe. The presence of companies from Germany, Switzerland, the UK, Spain, the Netherlands and Sweden testifies to the immediate appeal of this initiative.
Feedback from participants was unanimous: the professionals present praised the quality of the presentations and the relevance of the solutions presented to meet the day-to-day technical challenges faced by the AIMD industry.
"We're delighted to see an event where technology is at the forefront," says one of them.
This first edition revealed a shared desire on the part of industry players to maintain and strengthen established links, with the aim of fostering the development of new active medical implants.
Building on the success of this first event, a second edition is already being planned. It will build on this momentum, consolidating the foundations of a community structured around innovation.
