Cisteo Medical supports medtech start-ups in Belgium with Cisteo MEDICAL Belgium

We chose Charleroi and the Biopark to set up this new entity in order to work alongside Belgian medical device manufacturers and make our contribution to the local medtech ecosystem, particularly start-ups.

The opening of this Belgian subsidiary, actively supported by Sambrinvest and SPW-EER, is the logical consequence of an intensification of Cisteo Medical's Belgian dealflow in recent years, and of growing demand from medtech start-ups to benefit from such expertise.

Based in Besançon (France), the cradle of microtechnology, Cisteo MEDICAL has developed its skills around highly critical medical devices. "Historically, our microtechnical expertise comes from the watchmaking industry, and we wanted to put it to work in the field of medical innovation", explains Christophe Moureaux, Chairman and founder of Cisteo MEDICAL.

Combining electronic, software and mechanical skills, the company brings its know-how to the development of active implantable medical devices, implants, surgical instrumentation and robotics, as well as electromedical devices.

For several years now, Cisteo MEDICAL has been building strong partnerships with these Belgian customers, in particular with optoelectronics pioneer Synergia Medical, for whom Cisteo is industrializing and putting into production their neurostimulation device. "Having reached a certain design stage, we were looking for a partner to industrialize our device, and Cisteo MEDICAL was able to respond and adapt to our needs, which is why we began our Franco-Belgian collaboration", explains Attila Borbath, CEO of Synergia Medical.
